Fall construction closing Chatham highway ramps

Highway construction will soon close some Hwy. 401 on and off ramps in Chatham.

Starting next week, the Ministry of Transportation will start construction on Highway 401 east of Bloomfield Road to west of Merlin Road.

The work will be limited to the westbound outside lane of the highway, according to Julia Cashin, Senior Media Relations Advisor at the Ministry of Transportation.

“Crews will be restoring the concrete pavement surface and repairing existing joints, which will require temporary closures of the Bloomfield Road, westbound on and off ramps,” Cashin explained.

Alternate routes to access the highway will be available through Communication Road.

The on and off-ramps will be closed starting September 25, and the construction is set to be completed later this fall.
