Alleged Domestic Violence

A 47-year-old man is charged after allegedly assaulting their partner.

On Friday, officers received a report of intimate partner violence at a home in Chatham.

When police arrived, they were told by a 48-year-old woman that a man had come over and assaulted her. She claimed that the man threatened them and damaged several items in the home.

Officers arrested the man, charging him with assault, uttering threats, and mischief.

He remains in police custody, awaiting a bail hearing.

Assault of 60-year-old man

CK police have charged a 38-year-old man with assault after he allegedly injured a 60-year-old man.

On Saturday, officers were called to a home in Tilbury. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from minor injuries.

He told officers that he and another man had gotten into a verbal argument, when all of a sudden, he was pushed out of his chair. The man reportedly continued to assault the victim while he was on the ground.

The man was charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm.

He's been released from custody with a future court date.

Assault of a Police Officer

A 53-year-old man is facing assault charges after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with a police officer.

On Sunday, CK police were called to a home in Chatham about an intoxicated man threatening people. Video surveillance provided to police also showed the man throwing an undisclosed weapon at somebody.

When police arrived, they tried to calm the man down, but an officer was reportedly assaulted. The officer didn't need any medical help.

The man was arrested and charged with assaulting a peace officer, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

While in police custody, the man allegedly became aggressive and assaulted another officer. He was given another charge of assaulting a peace officer.

He remains in police custody, awaiting a bail hearing.
