CK police fish stolen vehicles out of Thames River

If you were wondering why there was such a large police presence in north Tilbury this week, wonder no more.

Chatham-Kent (CK) police said they recovered three stolen vehicles found in the Thames River in the area of Poppe Road and Buchanan Line in Tilbury Township with the help of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.

CK police said they received information indicating that property had been located in the river and that led to a two-day recovery operation.

The investigation continues.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Andrew Brown at andrewbr@chatham-kent.ca.

"The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit for their assistance in safely removing the vehicles," said CK police.
