RONA providing support to southwestern Ontario minor hockey teams

Hundreds of kids across southwestern Ontario will be able to play hockey this winter thanks to RONA.

The retailer is sponsoring seven teams, helping each buy equipment, reduce registration fees, take part in tournaments, and get apparel featuring their team colours.

The teams are based in Windsor, Kingsville, Petrolia, Blenheim, Port Stanley, and St. Thomas. The players are between the ages of seven and 17.

"Each selected team is much more than just a hockey club, it is a place where kids learn about perseverance, teamwork, and pushing their limits. We are thrilled to help create the kinds of unforgettable experiences that shape the youth of our communities,” said Catherine Laporte, RONA's Chief Digital and Marketing Officer.

In total, 150 teams across Canada are getting financial support from RONA. The retailer says each sponsorship is worth around $4,000.
