Maroons raise over $4K for the Breast Buddies

It was a successful night for the Chatham Maroons, both on and off the ice.

The Maroons doubled up the LaSalle Vipers 6-3 on Sunday, October 26, while wearing special pink game jerseys for their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night.

The jerseys were donated by Simply Vinyl Signs and Graphics and Sal and Son, then after the game, they were autographed and auctioned off.

The jerseys and a silent auction table raised $4,005 for the Breast Buddies Dragon Boat Team. That's the most they've ever raised in one year since the Maroons started hosting the event in 2013.

In 12 years, they've raised over $33,000.

Members of The Breast Buddies were also in attendance for a special pre-game ceremony. They're a group of breast cancer survivors who have taken up dragon boat racing to help empower people with the disease and bring awareness.
