High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A Chatham-Kent resident is $100,000 richer thanks to a scratch ticket.Robert Dube, 82, won the money after buying an Instant Bingo Doubler ticket at Lucky 7 Variety on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham.This was his first major win after buying tickets for years."I wasn’t sure whether I’d gotten all the numbers. When my daughter came over and confirmed my win, she was overwhelmed with happiness and cried tears of joy," said Dube.He plans on sharing the money with his family. Dube also wants to use some of the money to continue his hobby of creating homes out of LEGO.
