Over 100 homes sold in CK in October

Home sales crept over 100 in Chatham-Kent (CK) last month.

According to the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors (C.K.A.R.), this is down eight per cent from 2024.

"Sales were down on a year-over-year basis in October, although there has been a marked improvement when looking at the monthly data since the beginning of the year," said Barbara McCaughrin, President of the C.K.A.R.

The average price of the 104 homes sold last month was around $419,000. This is up roughly 1.5 per cent from last year.

Overall, there have been 1,044 sales in the first 10 months of 2025, which is down from 2024. The average price of all these sales is around $431,000.

The number of listings across CK currently sits at 564. This comes after 298 properties were added to the market in October.

"New listings set a new record for the month of October as sellers were more determined than ever to attract buyers to their properties. Overall inventory levels now stand at their highest in a decade as supply continues to outpace demand in our region," added McCaughrin.

The current listings are 29 per cent above the five-year average and 68 per cent above the 10-year average for this time of year.
