Wallaceburg traffic stop leads to drug charges

Chatham-Kent police have arrested four people on drug charges following a traffic stop.

Early Sunday morning, officers conducted a traffic stop on Elizabeth Street in Wallaceburg after they observed a traffic violation.

All occupants of the car were placed under arrest and searched after police found grounds to arrest one of the occupants of the car for obstructing police.

During the search, police say officers located quantities of Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Methamphetamine, along with other drug trafficking evidence.

All the occupants were then identified, arrested, and charged with three counts of possession with the purpose of trafficking.

A 21-year-old occupant was additionally charged with obstructing police. He was held for bail and was placed in custody until his next court date.
