Pair of CK men arrested on arson charges

Chatham-Kent police have arrested two local men in connection with a fire last week.

CK firefighters and officers were called to a business on Fourth Street last Friday after a blaze broke out.

Police say the fire started when two men piled garbage bins and cardboard together and set them alight.

The flames caused minor damage to the property and came dangerously close to a nearby building, though no one was injured.

Police later identified the suspects. A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday, and a 29-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday.

The pair are charged with arson and remain in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
