Wanted Man Arrested

A wanted 37-year-old man is in custody after trying to get back into the country.

A warrant was issued on November 26 after the man allegedly sent harassing messages to a 42-year-old woman.

At around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were notified by the Canada Border Services Agency that the man was in custody at the Windsor Tunnel after attempting to re-enter Canada.

The man was transported to Chatham, but has since been released from police custody with a future court date.

Vehicle Theft

CK police have charged a 36-year-old man with theft after being caught with stolen items.

At around 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to a parking lot on Margaret Avenue due to a suspicious man.

It's alleged the man was loitering when he entered an unlocked vehicle.

Officers later found the man in possession of several stolen items from the vehicle.

He was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.

The man has since been released from custody with a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
