CK Tim Hortons restaurants raise $24K for Special Olympics Canada

Chatham-Kent donut lovers helped raise $24,000 for Special Olympics Canada.

The money came through Tim Hortons' Special Olympics Donut fundraiser, which raised $1.3-million nationwide.

"This campaign shows what's possible when Canadians choose to include," said Gail Hamamoto, CEO of Special Olympics Canada. "Every Special Olympics Donut purchased will help open doors for athletes of all ages and abilities across the country - fueling confidence, connection, and opportunity through sport."

Tim Hortons restaurants donated 100 per cent of the proceeds of each specialty donut sold between January 30 and February 1.

This is the seventh time Tim Hortons has run this fundraiser.

The funds support year-round, inclusive sport programs for more than 40,000 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities nationwide.
