The Chatham-Kent Arts Council (CKAC) is now accepting applications for its Emerging Youth Artist Scholarship program.
This is the third year that CKAC is awarding the scholarship with a prize of $2,000.
"The importance of supporting emerging artists through programs like ours is foundational,” says CKAC Board Chair Laurie Langford. “It ensures the development of careers, and the creative sector’s future."
The scholarship is open to people aged 16 to 20 who are graduating from a Chatham-Kent high school in 2026 and pursuing a post-secondary career in an artistic discipline.
"Students working and studying in all disciplines and mediums are encouraged to apply. We look forward to seeing the breadth of work submitted by this year’s applicants," Langford continued.
Those looking to apply will need to submit an online application, which includes a resume, as well as a minimum of three work samples.
CKAC will be accepting applications until April 30.
