It's looking like anyone on Chatham-Kent's municipal council seeking re-election will face some competition.
A candidate information session was held in Chatham on Thursday night, with 40 people taking part.
Those in attendance were shown how to submit their name for mayor, council, or school board trustee with the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) or St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB).
Councillor Michael Bondy is the only member of council to publicly announce his intention to run again, though he plans to run for mayor.
This will also be the first election in which the municipality will move from 18 to 15 seats, as three council seats were eliminated in 2025.
Residents will officially cast their vote on October 26, 2026.
