Update: Gas leak that forced evacuation of some Chatham homes fixed

Everyone is allowed back home after a gas leak in Chatham forced some to evacuate.

The leak was found coming from a lawn on Scane Street on Tuesday morning.

According to the municipality, it was caused by a loose connection on an underground pipe.

Chatham-Kent (CK) police had cordoned off multiple areas around the leak as a precaution while emergency crews worked to fix the issue. These barricades have since been removed.
