The Chatham-Kent YMCA has launched its annual fundraising campaign.
The goal is to raise $150,000 by the end of 2026 for the financial assistance program.
In 2025, the Y spent $125,382 to help 365 members, which is 30 per cent of its total members.
The financial assistance program helps individuals and families in the community access Y programs and services that they may not otherwise be able to.
Two large donations kicked off the 2026 fundraising campaign.
Teksavvy Solutions Inc. presented a cheque for $14,000. The company has been a supporter for several years.
Rachel Christensen of Waste Connections of Canada presented a gift of $5,000. This is the third year the company has supported the campaign.
