Wheatley man faces charges after traffic stop

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a 28-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a traffic complaint late Tuesday night.

Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop just before midnight on Talbot Road East in Leamington.

The Wheatley resident is charged with impaired driving, driving with excessive blood-alcohol concentration, and possession of cocaine.

He is also facing charges of driving while suspended, as well as driving with liquor and cannabis readily available.

The man's licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

The charges have not been proven in court. The driver will have a chance to respond to them in a Windsor court on July 7.
