Assault Charges

A 21-year-old man is facing multiple assault charges after allegedly getting into a fight with someone he knew.

Just before 11 a.m. on Thursday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called to a residence on Longwoods Road in Chatham.

The police were told that two people had gotten into an altercation, which escalated when one assaulted the other.

Officers arrested the aggressor, charging him with assault and assaulting a peace officer.

He remains in police custody, awaiting a bail hearing.

Motel Room Damaged

CK police have charged a 47-year-old man for allegedly damaging a motel room.

It happened on Grand Avenue West in Chatham on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the man caused significant damage while also threatening to set the place on fire.

He was arrested in the motel's parking lot and charged with mischief and uttering threats.
