SIU seeks public help in former CK officer investigation

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is asking the public for assistance in an ongoing sexual assault investigation involving a former Chatham-Kent police officer.

The unit issued an appeal urging anyone with relevant information regarding Kenneth Miller, a former officer with the Chatham-Kent Police Service, to come forward.

Miller was most recently charged by the SIU in April for sexual assault.

In its public appeal, the SIU emphasized its commitment to supporting individuals through what can be an incredibly challenging process.

"The SIU recognizes that experiences of sexual violence can be deeply personal and difficult to speak about," the agency said. "There is no time limit to report sexual assault, and individuals may choose whether, how, and when they wish to share information."

The SIU reiterated that coming forward is entirely voluntary and that all communications will be handled with strict confidentiality.
