Chatham man charged after woman threatened with knife

A Chatham man has been arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, and mischief following an incident in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police allege the 31-year-old man approached a 54-year-old woman's vehicle on Grand Avenue West in Chatham shortly before 9 a.m. Friday, produced a pocketknife, and threatened the victim before stabbing the driver’s side door of her vehicle.

Police said the man left the area, but was found a few minutes later on Ursuline Avenue and was arrested.
