Chatham man dead following overnight collision

A Chatham man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Queen's Line.

According to Chatham-Kent (CK) police, the collision took place between Bloomfield Road and Dillon Road at around 12:06 a.m. on Sunday.

Both drivers, who were the sole occupants of the vehicles, were taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. One of the drivers, a 57-year-old man from Chatham, was airlifted to the London Health Sciences Centre and later succumbed to his injuries.

CK police closed Queen's Line for several hours, and reopened early that same morning.

Officers from the Traffic Management Unit are investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Shelton Richardson at (519)355-1092.
