Police seek suspects after Erieau Veterans Crosswalk defaced

Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public's help in finding suspect(s) who caused damage to the Veterans Memorial Crosswalk in downtown Erieau.

Tire marks were left on the crosswalk, with police believing it happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Councillor Anthony Ceccacci told CK News Today that he believes it came from someone doing a burnout.

"I would just encourage anybody that has information on this to reach out to police because the damage is far more significant than just the paint and replacement of tens of thousands of dollars. It's the disheartening action towards our veterans who gave everything for our community," said Ceccacci.

CK officers are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or has footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact them.
