One of the longest-serving members of Chatham-Kent's (CK) municipal council is looking to stick around at least another four years.
Brock McGregor is seeking a fourth term, this time serving Ward 8 in Chatham.
He was first elected in 2014, finishing sixth amongst 22 candidates. In 2018, he received the third most votes in Chatham's lone Ward, before receiving the most in 2022.
McGregor told CK News Today that he wants to come back to continue helping the municipality move in the right direction.
"I think that I've provided a strong voice for a reasonable approach and financially responsible management of the municipality," he explained.
If re-elected, McGregor would like to work on improving community safety and the municipality's large infrastructure gap. He also believes the next council needs to focus heavily on the housing and homelessness crisis.
"We don't get provided the resources from the provincial government to deal with that adequately, so we really need to look at innovative approaches with community partners to make more of a dent in the issue," he added.
When asked why people should once again vote for him, McGregor was quick to highlight the work he's done in nearly 12 years of being a councillor.
"I've advocated on behalf of residents for tax fairness, adequate investment into our community, and addressing issues that we face with a long-term lens," he said.
CK's election will be on October 26, 2026.
