Chatham-Kent Councillor Marjorie Crew is looking for a fifth term on the municipality's council.
She is running in Ward 7, which covers the northeast part of Chatham.
Crew was first elected in 2006 and again in 2010. In 2014, she unsuccessfully ran for mayor, but was re-elected as a councillor in 2018 and in 2022.
She told CK News Today she wants to return and continue the work to improve the quality of life for everyone in CK.
"I really feel like there's a lot of work left to do, and I'm excited about working alongside a new council that will undoubtedly have many new faces," she explained.
Crew believes the next council will need to devote significant attention to improving the municipality's aging infrastructure. That said, she thinks housing will be top of mind over the next four years.
"Homelessness, keeping people housed, protecting our housing stock," she added.
When asked why people should vote for her again, Crew explained that she'll be the same type of councillor she's been for almost 16 years.
"I always use my experience, my integrity, and I believe in strong communities and people."
CK's election will be on October 26, 2026.
