Much like the Chatham-Kent (CK) council, the current term of the Together CK Review Committee is coming to an end.
The committee oversees the Together CK Grant Program, which was established in 2000 and helps to support community events and projects across the municipality.
Each year, Council invests in projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life in Chatham-Kent, with many of those projects recommended by the committee, through applications to the Together CK Grant Program.
In February, the Together CK Grant Program announced the investment of $375,000 into 66 community initiatives for the year. This included events like Chatham-Kent Crowfest, the Dresden Night Market, Retrofest in Downtown Chatham, the Thamesville Threshing Festival, and the Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO).
"The Together CK grant program is about investing in the people and communities that make Chatham-Kent such a vibrant place to live," CK Mayor Darrin Canniff once said adding that the projects chosen "support connection, culture, and economic activity across the entire municipality."
Anyone community minded, with relevant committee or volunteer experience, and over the age of 18 is encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will be appointed for four years and should expect to commit approximately 30 hours each fall to reviewing applications and attending committee meetings.
