Senior fined for crashing into Chatham business

A 68-year-old woman from Raleigh Township has been fined for driving into the front of a Chatham business.

It happened around 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Richmond Street.

Police say the woman crashed into the building, but did not say what caused her to do so.

She was given a ticket for careless driving.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

The extent of the damage is currently unknown, with the business having to remain closed until an engineer ensures that the building's structure is not compromised.
