Jr. Kings Double Lakers

The Wallaceburg Lakers still can't seem to snap an 11-game losing streak after falling 6-3 to the Dresden Jr. Kings.

During the game on Wednesday, Dresden took a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period. They then increased their lead by one in the second, scoring three goals over two from Wallaceburg. Both teams scored in the third, giving Dresden the win with a three goal lead.

David Vergeer, Dillon Liberty, Derrick VanEvery, Derek Daly, Macks Holmes, and Kevin Ritzer scored one each for Dresden. Jackson Gray, Brendan Ritchie and Evan Weidenbach all scored one for Wallaceburg.

The Jr. Kings take on the Blenheim Blades on Friday at 7:30pm and the Lakers will face off against the Mooretown Flags on Saturday at 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
