LaSalle Drops Sutherland Cup Opener

The LaSalle Vipers lost their opening Sutherland Cup semi-final game, falling 7-2 to the Elmira Sugar Kings.

Elmira came out firing, taking a 2-0 lead in the first period. The Vipers cut the lead in half thanks to a goal from Brendan Harrogate, but that was as close as LaSalle would get.

Daniel Beaudoin scored the Vipers' other goal in the third period.

Game 2 in the best-of-seven series goes Friday night in LaSalle.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
