Leafs Captain's Brother Playing Locally

The little brother of Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf has committed to the University of Windsor.

Dane Phaneuf is among a group of players being announced as part of the recruiting class for the Lancers 2015-16 season. The 5'10" defenseman was captain of the Sherwood Park Crusaders in the AJHL, where he played the last three seasons.

Former Maroon Brennan Feasey has also committed to Windsor. Feasey captured the overall GOJHL scoring title with 41 goals and 49 assists for 90 points.

Belle River native Chris Scott and Windsor native Eric Palazzolo will also play for the Lancers.

Scott played this past season for the Leamington Flyers where he was named the GOJHL Western Conference player of the year and top defensive forward. Palazzolo played for the league's Elmira Sugar Kings, as well as parts of three seasons for the Chatham Maroons from 2011-2014.
