Blades 50th Anniversary Plaques Starting To Sell

The Blenheim Blades are seeing moderate success with a new fundraiser that pays tribute to the teams history.

The organization is selling plaques that will go in each of the 23 player stalls in the dressing room. Director of Player Personnel Bill Saunders says the plaques are selling for a one-time fee of $500 each.

"Basically it would be the name (on the plaque), and whether they were a player, an executive, or a coach, or I suppose even a fan for that matter," says Saunders. "There have been people going to these games out here for years and years and years and they might to help out in that way as well."

Saunders says they have sold a couple of plaques since they announced the initiative about two-weeks ago, and hope to have them all sold by the end of the year. This year marks the 50th anniversary for the Junior C hockey team.
