Former Lancer Sets Canadian Record

Former University of Windsor track star Melissa Bishop has set a new Canadian record for the women's 800m.

According to Athletics Canada, she ran the 800m in 1:57.52 in a semi-final at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.

Bishop, a former olympian, trains in Windsor.

She'll run the 800m final on Saturday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
