Maroons Fall To Legionnaires In OT

The Sarnia Legionnaires downed the Maroons 6-5 in overtime in Chatham's final preseason game.

On Wednesday, the Maroons took a 2-0 lead in the first period and were ahead 4-3 at the end of the second. However, the Legionnaires were able to come back in the third frame to tie the game 5-5 and force OT. Sarnia earned the win with a final goal just under two minutes into extra time.

The Maroons open the regular season Saturday afternoon against Niagara Falls at the Western Fairgrounds at 4:30pm as a part of the GOJHL showcase. You can hear a live broadcast of that game on Country 92.9 FM/630 AM CFCO or stream it online here.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
