Showcase Weekend Big For Players

An official with the Ontario Hockey Association says the Junior B showcase weekend is all about players flashing their talents.

OHA Director Larry Keenan says the event to kick-off the season is huge for the league.

"A lot of work goes into working with the NCAA program over in the United States and the Canadian universities are all notified of this event," says Keenan. "Many will have their team scouts and director of player personnel people will also be in attendance, and there are even NHL people that also attend."

All 27 teams take part in the three day showcase which gets underway tonight. Each team plays two games.

This year's event is being hosted at the Western Fairgrounds in London.
