Junior Hockey Wrap Up - September 18, 2015

In GOJHL action on Friday, the LaSalle Vipers edged the St. Marys Lincolns 4-3 after double overtime. LaSalle's Eric Kirby scored the game winner 1:26 into the second overtime period.

The Leamington Flyers blanked the St. Thomas Stars 3-0 for their fourth win of the season. Cale Phibbs led the Flyers with two goals.

In Great Lakes Junior C hockey action, the Blenheim Blades fell 5-2 to Lakeshore with Colin Sartor leading the Canadiens with two goals.

The Dresden Jr Kings came close to mounting a comeback but ultimately fell 8-5 to the Amherstburg Admirals. Chad Copeland led the Admirals with two goals. Kyle Dawson and Macks Holmes each scored two for Dresden.

And the Essex 73's downed the Mooretown Flags 7-4. Essex also out shot the Flags 42-33.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
