Hathaway Comes Up Short

A Dutton native came up just short in his quest for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Championship.

Jason Hathaway won the season-finale race at Kawartha Speedway near Peterborough on Saturday, but came up four points short of winning the series Championship.

"We capitalized on what we wanted to do, and the only bad part about the whole thing that happened to us all weekend was Scott Steckly finished 2nd. So he ended up winning the points championship for the fourth time in the series history," says Hathaway. "Just to come up a little shy, four points shy for our team, a little heartbreak at the end. But knowing we won three races out of an 11 races series, one on a road course and two on the oval, we can't hold our heads down."

Hathaway led 205 laps.
