Junior Hockey Wrap Up – September 25, 2015

In Great Lakes Junior C hockey action, the Lakeshore Canadiens fell 4-3 in overtime to the Mooretown Flags.  Guy Lavesque led Lakeshore with two goals during the game.

The Alvinston downed the Wheatley Sharks 7-2 with the Flyers scoring four of their goals in the final period. Brett Bowman and Brady Hillock each scored a goal for the Sharks.

And the Blenheim Blades edged the Dresden Jr. Kings 9-8. Drew Marlatt, Braeden Allore, Nolan VandenBoorn and Zack Horvath each scored twice for Blenheim, while Dylan Hathaway scored once.  Kevin Ritzer led Dresden with two goals.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
