Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – October 18, 2015

In Great Lakes Junior C hockey action Sunday night, the Integrity Amherstburg Admirals tied the Lakeshore Canadiens 6-6 after no scoring in overtime.

Blake Rutckyj led Amherstburg with two goals in the third.  Brandon Ireland, Brenden Crundwell, Steven Sartor, Aaron Moore, Parker Boyle and Mejoe Gasparovic each scored once for Lakeshore.

Also, the Dresden Jr. Kings beat the Blenheim Blades 6-2.

Kyle Dawson was the lead scorer for Dresden with two goals. Nolan VandenBoorn and Kellen Kaniecki both scored one goal for Blenheim.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
