Windsor-Essex Showing Football Potential

Former NFL free safety Oshiomogho "OJ" Atogwe thinks Southwestern Ontario has only scratched the surface in terms of turning out pro football players.

He says athletically gifted kids in this region are now watching guys like Luke Willson of the Seattle Seahawks and Tyrone Crawford of the Dallas Cowboys, among other NFL and CFL stars, knowing that pro football is an achievable goal.

"They'll have those aspirations to do it, and as long as they stay focussed and commit themselves to it and dedicate themselves to the game of football, they'll make that same type of splash and even bigger ones."

Atogwe played in the National Football League from 2005 to 2012, enjoying stints with the St. Louis Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins.

He now works as a football analyst on TSN, and was recently inducted into the Windsor-Essex County Sports Hall of Fame.
