Spitfires Making Goalie Decisions

The Windsor Spitfires are solidifying their goalie situation.

The team's had four goaltenders on its roster over the last three weeks, with Mike DiPietro playing at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in BC.

General Manager Warren Rychel's decided to keep DiPietro and newcomer Garret Hughson, while releasing 20-year-old Michael Giugovaz and 18-year-old Mario Culina to waivers.

"At some point, we knew we would have to make some decisions," says Rychel. "Garret has played very well and done everything we've asked of him since the day he arrived, and we want to give the other two a chance to play somewhere."

Hughson's earned a 1.67 goals against average and .950 save percentage since coming to Windsor in a trade with the Niagara IceDogs.
