Jr. Hockey Wrap Up - November 10, 2015

The Leamington Flyers topped the Sarnia Legionnaires 6-2 in Greater Ontario Junior "B" Hockey League action Tuesday night.

An unassisted shorthanded goal from Liam Hogan proved to be the game winner. Cale Phibbs finished with three assists, Matthew Opblinger had two goals while Hogan and Mark Gangnon each had two-point games.

In the Great Lakes Junior "C" Hockey League, a goal fest in Essex saw the 73's come out on top 7-5 over the Lakeshore Canadiens.

Max Viseli had two goals and an assist while Matthew Rosati registered three assists for the 73's.

JJ Percy, Mejoe Gasparovic and Sebastian Kanally all had two-point games for the Canadiens in a losing effort.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
