Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – November 13, 2015

In Great Lakes Junior C hockey action, the Wheatley Sharks doubled the Lakeshore Canadiens 4-2.

Nick Tavolieri-Essex led the Sharks with two goals.  Steven Sartor and Sebastian Kanally each scored once for the Canadiens.

As well, the Blenhiem Blades beat the Alvinston Flyers 3-2 in overtime.

Dustin Maines and Corbin Hagerman scored one each for the Blades, with Matt Clark scoring the game winner in OT.

And the Dresden Kings crushed the Integrity Amherstburg Admirals 6-1.

Dillon Liberty was lead scorer for the Kings with two goals. Blake Rutckyj scored Amherstburg's only goal.

Junior A action, the Kingsville Kings beat the Niagara Whalers 3-1.

Lukas Havelka, Ryan Gruszka and Ludwig Niederbach all scored once for Kingsville.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
