Junior Hockey Wrap Up – February 11, 2016

In Junior A hockey, the Kingsville Kings shutout the Norfolk Vikings 10-0 on Thursday.

The Kings scored two goals in both of the first two periods, and ended the game with a whopping six unanswered goals in the third.

Ludwig Niederbach led Kingsville with a hat-trick, while Jonathon Yanovsky scored two. Marcel Kottek, Zack Zulkanycz, David Vostarek, Ivan Hodulov and Lukas Havelka all had one as well.

The Kings take on the Vikings once again on Friday at 8pm.

In GOJHL hockey, the Leamington Flyers game against he St. Marys Lincolns was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
