Junior Hockey Wrap Up – February 12, 2016

In Junior C hockey, the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals swept the Wheatley Sharks 4-0 in the playoff quarterfinals, following a 5-2 win on Friday.

Broden Meloche, Ryan Alexander, Kasey Basile, Luke Gangnon and Dylan Muzzatti all scored once for the Admirals.  Lucas Raffoul and Andreas Gossmann scored the two goals for Wheatley.

The Essex 73's also swept the Alvinston Flyers 4-0 with a 6-1 victory the same night.

Michael Vieira led Essex with a hat-trick, while Tyler Scott, Adam Gaiarin and Dalton Langlois all had one

As well, the Blenheim Blades fell 7-5 to the Dresden Kings, tying the series 2-2.

Dillon Liberty led the Kings with two goals, while Kevin Ritzer, John Montgomery, Isaac McLean, Kyle Dawson, and Taylor Sisson scored one each. Dustin Maines, Brayden Hopkins, Kier Cumming, Bryce Broad and Drew Marlatt all scored once for the Blades.

Also, the Lakeshore Canadiens were doubled 4-2 by the Mooretown Flages to tie the series at 2-2.

Logan Percy and Mejoe Gasparovic both had one goal for Lakeshore.

And in Junior A hockey, the Kingsville Kings won 10-3 over the Norfolk Vikings.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
