Blades And Flags Eye Second Round

Blenheim and Mooretown look to punch their tickets to the second round of the Great Lakes Jr. C Playoffs with wins tonight.

The Blades lead the Dresden Jr. Kings 3-2 in their best-of-seven series, while the Flags also have the Lakeshore Canadiens on the brink of elimination leading 3-2. Dresden and Lakeshore will both be on home ice tonight.

Blenheim forwards Drew Marlatt and Braydon Hopkins have each notched 10 points in their first five games with Dresden, while Mooretown right winger Ryan Lyle leads the Flags and Lakeshore series in scoring with seven points.

Amherstburg and Essex have already advanced to the next round after sweeping their opponents in four straight games.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
