Junior Hockey Wrap Up – February 19, 2016

The Lakeshore Canadiens staved off elimination after beating the Mooretown Flags 4-3 in Game 6 on Friday.

JJ Percy, Steven Sartor, Sebastian Kanally and Jarrett Tazzman each scored once for the Canadiens.

The Junior C playoff series is now tied 3-3, with Game 7 scheduled for Saturday at 7:30pm.

Also in Junior C hockey, the Blenheim Blades doubled the Dresden Kings 4-2 to win their best-of-seven series.

Drew Marlatt led the Blades with two goals, while Dustin Maines and Nick Delyzer scored once each.  Dillon Liberty and Steven Funk scored the two goals for Dresden.

The Blades won the series 4-2 and will move on the the next round of the playoffs.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
