Lions Focus On Depth At NFL Combine

The top prospects for April's draft are now on the field at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.

Detroitlions.com senior writer Tim Twentyman says the draft lines up well for the Lions to fill holes along the defensive line.

"Mike Mayock, who does analysis for NFL.com, said "you can get a defensive tackle in the 3rd or 4th Round (of the draft) this year that would have been a 1st or 2nd Rounder last year," says Twentyman. "That's how deep this class is." Twentyman adds that new GM Bob Quinn has said he wants to focus on building team depth so it can better handle injuries during the regular season.

The physical testing, which includes the 40-yard dash, bench press, and agility drills, wraps up on Sunday

The Lions have the 16th overall pick in the draft, which kicks off April 28.
