Jr. Hockey Wrap Up - February 29, 2016

In Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey League play, the Essex 73's are still undefeated in playoffs action after completing back-to-back series sweeps.

The 73's topped the Mooretown Flags 6-2 on Monday night.

Matthew Hebert scored twice in the opening period in which Essex took a commanding 4-1 lead. The two teams would trade goals in the second period before Brett Vorshuk scored for added insurance.

Tyler Scott finished with three assists for the 73's, including an assist on William Stadder's game winning goal.

The 73's are now through to the GLJCHL Championship.

The Blenheim Blades and Amherstburg Admirals are tied at two games a piece in their semi-finals series.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
