Rivals Square Off In GLJCHL Final

A rematch of last year's Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey League final gets underway tonight, as Essex hosts Amherstburg.

The Admirals are the only team to have beat the 73's more than once this season, however Essex still took the season series 3-2.

After sweeping their way through the first two playoff rounds, 73's Head Coach Gil Langlois expects this could be a long series.

"[Amherstburg's] very solid in the net. They've got a good blue line," says the coach. "Behind their blue line they play a very good defensive game, and they've got some speed up front."

Essex took last year's final in six games.

Three of those contests were decided by one goal.

Amherstburg's only lost twice through the first two rounds of its post-season.
