Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – March 12, 2016

The LaSalle Vipers downed the Sarnia Legionnaires 5-4 in overtime on Saturday to force Game 7 of their playoff series.

Daniel Beaudoin, Tyler Russell, Owen Lalonde and Liam MacDougall all scored once for LaSalle during regular play. Beaudoin also scored the game winner in OT.

The Vipers and the Legionnaires return to the ice for Game 7 on Sunday at 5pm.

And in Junior C  playoff action, the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals took a 2-1 series lead over the Essex 73's following a 3-2 overtime victory.

Broden Meloche and Curtis Prymack both scored once for the Admirals. Luke Gangnon scored the game winner in OT.

Luke Gecse and Luke Gecse scored the two goals for Essex.

The two teams will face off for Game 4 on Sunday at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
