Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – March 13, 2016

The LaSalle Vipers have eliminated the Sarnia Legionnaires in Game 7, after a 5-2 victory on Sunday.

Liam MacDougall led LaSalle with a hat-trick, while Owen Lalonde and Connor Rosaasen scored the other two goals.

The Vipers will now take on the London Nationals in the next round of playoffs.

And in Junior C hockey, the Essex 73's edged the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals 2-1 to tie the series 2-2.

Griffin McCarty and Tyler Scott each scored once for Essex. Caleb Paquette scored Amherstburg's only goal.

The two teams face off in Game 5 on Tuesday at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
