Spitfires Double Sting 6-3

The Windsor Spitfires closed out their regular season with a 6-3 victory over the Sarnia Sting on Sunday.

Both teams scored once in the first period to tie the game, but Windsor was able to take a 3-1 lead in the second. The Spitfires scored another three in the final frame, over two from Sarnia, to earn the win.

Aaron Luchuk was the top scorer for Windsor with two goals, while Andrew Burns, Mikhail Sergachev, Jalen Chatfield and Connor Chatham each scored one.

The Spits will now take on the Kitchener Rangers in the first round of the OHL playoffs.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
